“Goanna Downs” was purpose built in 2007 for the agistment of broodmares and to facilitate foaling down and weaning in the safest possible conditions.
Extensive pasture improvements have been undertaken and are continuing under the management of consulting agronomist Ross Watson of Ross Watson Agriculture. Many kilometres of new fencing have been installed creating large agistment paddocks, pre-foaling paddocks, foaling paddocks and separate quarantine paddocks all with wide laneways to provide separation. This ensures a safe environment for your broodmares and foals.
We have 20 spacious boxes all with automatic waterers to enable the mares and foals safe, comfortable accommodation should they need to be stabled for any reason. We have well lit foaling down paddocks, provision for mares under lights and we have the latest paddock cleaning technology to ensure clean quality pastures and excellent facilities for your mares and foals.
A new mare and foal crush has been built to ensure the safe handling of all broodmares and foals during all veterinary procedures.
The owners live on the property providing 24 hour attention. We are carrying limited numbers of horses, in the best possible modern facilities, designed for the safety and well being of your horses. The nutrition and condition of each horse is catered for individually. |
